Denim on Denim.

Top: Piperlime {old, similar here} // Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters // Shoes: Lucky Brand {Borrowed from my suitemate- get them here! :-) } // Vest: L.L. Bean // Necklace: Pink Slate Boutique {old}  // Bracelets: Alex & Ani // Lips: Mally Lipstick in BFF Pink

This is the outfit that I wore when shooting yesterday's blog post with Teleflora! Fall casual outfits are becoming more and more of my jam this season. In past years of college, I have always loved dressing up for class most days. While dressing up and wearing girly outfits is still a love of mine, where this is my senior year of college, I'm definitely taking more advantage of the fact that this is probably the last year of my life when I can get away with wearing casual clothing so often! #senioritis

I love this outfit because while it is casual, it's still put together. This was my first time layering my favorite chambray shirt over denim jeans (normally I pair my chambray with a skirt or black jeggings), but I ended up really digging the denim on denim look! If you're also going to double up your denim, I would recommend doing a lighter colored chambray shirt and darker jeans, just so your whole outfit doesn't look monochromatic!

Are you also loving more casual outfits for this fall season? With the holidays quickly approaching, I know that I will soon be all about more dressy holiday fashion, so I am enjoying my casual looks while I still can! :-)

In other news, I'm getting my hair trimmed today! Since I started growing my hair out after a drastic haircut a couple of years ago, I've really been resisting getting trims. I'm embarrassed to admit that the last haircut/trim that I had was over a year ago! Needless to say, my split ends are all over the place.
One reason that I go so long in between hair trims is because I have had yet to find a hairdresser here in NC! That is the one thing that I have loyally still done at home in Maine. The hairdresser that I'm going to today has come to me with glowing recommendations from a couple school friends though, so hopefully I will like the results- I'll keep y'all posted!

  2. I used to be that girl that loves dressing up for class too! When senior year came around it really hit me that I might not be able to wear casual cloths as often so I took advantage of that too haha. Love your outfit, that vest color is beautiful!

  5. I've been growing fond of the denim on denim trend! I agree that it definitely looks best with a lighter top and darker bottoms. As for the haircut, I used to be so stubborn with getting it trimmed when it was long! Now that I have short hair, I go all the time. I cringe sometimes looking back at my long hair, being able to count all of the split ends I had.

  8. I think I love mixing casual outfits with dressier looks on a weekly basis. Some days I want a cozy sweater and jeans and the next day I want a sparkly dress with heels. It's all based on my mood. This casual denim on denim look is perfect for class!

  16. Every time I hear the words "denim on denim" I think of the iconic Britney & Justin VMA look! haha! This look is FAR from that though, I'm loving pairing chambray tops with darker denim too. Good luck with the new hairdresser by the way! xx Merisa | Monogrammed Magnolias
