Midweek Ramblings.

Ramblings:
  • Home Edit TV show: Have you heard about this yet? The ladies of The Home Edit blog/IG have gotten their own Netflix show! I guess this was actually announced about a year ago when Netflix first picked up the show, but it's releasing next month so there's been more buzz about it again. I somehow missed the news last year and found out when my friend Dana (@seersuckersass) shared it on IG! I love following The Home Edit and I also adore their first book (I got it for Christmas last year and have given it as gifts since!). I can't wait to watch this- Netflix has been killing it with their Originals lately.
  • Bridesmaid: The best thing that I came home to from my trip was a bridesmaid proposal package from my friend Cara! We met back in 2015 through blogging, and it's so crazy to me that the internet lead me to a friend so dear that I'll be part of her bridal party next year! I am so excited for Cara and her fiance TJ- be sure to follow along with her blog Caralina Style where she's sharing regular Wedding Wednesday posts.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Still in Maine for the first half! Friday was my last full beach day and it was glorious. I flew home on Saturday night. Sunday was spent playing catch up around my apartment, and then I took my friend Emily's graduation photos in the evening.
  • This weekend: Friday night some girlfriends and I are going to a local outdoor spot to celebrate Emily's graduation! Sunday I'll have a Zoom call for the sorority volunteering that I do. No plans for Saturday yet- hopefully something fun will come up!

Purchases:
  • Finally trying the toenail version of ImPRESS nails!
  • This concealer, which has salicylic acid in it to help with acne. Hoping this will help the "maskne" on my chin a bit!
  • Another pair of the athletic shorts I wear all the time.
  • A cute and basic black and white striped dress- can't link the one I have but this one is almost identical!

Wishlist:

Currently reading: I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown -  This finally came in for me at the library after a few months wait. It was one of the most recommended books to me back in June when I asked on Instagram Stories for best books to read related to racial issues. I'm only a little bit into it so far, so I'll keep y'all updated what I learn from it.

Recipe of the week: Chrissy Teigen's Mac n Cheese from Cravings - Pretty sure I've linked this recipe more times than I can count over the years on my blog, haha! But it's just so good, my favorite ever mac n cheese. It's the first recipe I made this weekend getting back from vacation and it never disappoints!

Song of the week: Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus - LOVE THIS SONG! Might be one of my favs for the year so far. I'm not a huge Miley fan but this is such a fun, different sound for her, and I love the 80s vibes. It reminds me so much of Fleetwood Mac!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Thrifty Pineapple - Angela went on a brief Disney trip a few weeks ago, and I thought it was so cool to read her recap! It is encouraging to hear how many safety and social distancing precautions Disney World is taking right now since they re-opened.
  • Southern Curls and Pearls - Caitlin shared an update on her pet cats- since I am a total cat lady I loved this post! Her cat George reminds me a lot of Delilah!
  • Do, Say, Give - This was a fun recap post about attending the past few rewardStyle conferences, up through 2019! I got to attend this year's virtually- I'll share my own recap soon.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  1. We MUST compare notes about The Home Edit's show! I cannot wait to watch it.

Also, I definitely need to try out that concealer. The hormonal acne on my chin apparently believes it is just as essential as a mask.

    Xo, Dana

  2. So exciting to be a bridesmaid! Especially for someone you met through blogging. Makes all those posts worth it right?!
I haven't heard Miley's new song, but I'm popping over to YouTube to have a listen!
