Ramblings:
  • One hit wonder song bracket: It's going down on my IG Stories and it's already SO much fun! I kicked it off last night and we're starting with one hit wonders from 1996-2000 (2001-2005 will be coming soon)! I honestly had no idea how much fun this would be-  go vote today on my IG Stories if you haven't yet. I've always been passionate about the music from this time period, and especially the one hit wonders, so it's been fun to share this on Instagram! At the conclusion of both brackets I'll do a blog post with a playlist with all the songs.
  • Virginia wine feature: Central Virginia was featured as an up and coming wine region on Martha Stewart's website this week! The article highlighted some of my favorite local vineyards like Veritas, Barboursville and King Family. Of course I know firsthand how great local wineries are since I get to visit them, but I always love seeing Virginia wineries get national publicity!
  • Jazzercise classes: Last week, my local Jazzercise studio re-opened for in person classes! I had been doing live-streamed classes through my studio as well as Jazzercise On-Demand since March... but let me just say nothing compares to actually being able to work out at my fitness studio again! Members can currently sign up for up to three classes a week (to keep class sizes small there are limits) and I'm so looking forward to the rest of my classes tomorrow and Saturday. Has your gym re-opened yet?

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Very chill, but I needed that after a busy one the weekend before! On Friday after work my friend Emily helped me shoot a few different things for blog and Instagram photos, and then we picked up Indian takeout and had a girls night in at my place. Saturday I went to Jazzercise and then did some blog work for the rest of the day. Sunday I livestreamed church and then ran several local errands!
  • This weekend: A couple friends and I are having a wine and s'mores night to start off the weekend on Friday. On Saturday I have brunch plans, and on Sunday my roommate and I are planning a big float trip on a local river for our friends, which was something on my summer bucket list

Purchases:
  • TMI perhaps but I ordered two bras from this new-to-me company! I'm a diehard VS fan for undergarments, but I needed some new bras and I'm not quite ready to be in the mall trying those on yet, mask and all. (I'm very picky about which VS styles I like and don't like, so I always buy them in-person.) Anyways, a few bloggers I follow raved about this company so I'm giving it a try! They do have free returns so if it doesn't work out no loss.

Wishlist:
  • I want to order Delilah a better harness for taking her out for walks. This one looks a lot more comfortable for her and is soooo cute!
  • Since I've started playing tennis again, I want to grow my athletic skort collection. This skort is under $25 and comes in a variety of nice prints.
  • SUCH a good sale going on at one of my favorite retailers right now for 60% off most items. This striped shirt is so classic for summer.
  • The pink jumpsuit of my dreams is also included in the 60% off sale!
  • Red shorts that scream 4th of July.

Currently reading: Slightly South of Simple by Kristy Woodson Harvey - Hoping to finally finish this today because it's due at the library soon!

Recipe of the week: Frozen Key Lime Pie from Food Network - This recipe is in an old cookbook I have that's no longer published, but fortunately the recipe is also on Food Network's website. It's so good and so easy! The ideal summer dessert- be sure to make this soon and thank me later. Definitely used homemade whipped cream over CoolWhip- it'll taste way better.

Song of the week: Gotta Tell You by Samantha Mumba - In honor of the song bracket on IG Stories! This one is such a bop that I always forget how much I love.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Amy Believes in Pink - Amy reviewed the two top blow dryer brushes, which I found to be super useful since I've been considering ordering one of these.
  • Heather Bien - Heather shared some restaurant and antique shopping recommendations for a new-to-me part of Virginia that I can't wait to explore for myself!
  • Oh What a Sight to See - Hannah revealed her home office, and it's just beautiful.

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  1. I too find exercising in person so much better than via online! Our studio held small classes outside during June, but this Friday they are moving to their regular classes inside which is great as it's gotten so hot recently!
The key lime recipe sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I've been eye athletic skorts again too! We used to play tennis a lot, and it was so fun to have the whole outfit. Now I think the skort can be worn in a lot of settings! Athletic clothes have come so far.

  3. I had a friend call me in the middle of the night one time (I thought it was an emergency turned out she had been drinking) to tell me that "we're too old for VS now. Just thought I should let you know." (we were 25 at the time) Random? Yes, but it prompted me to expand my horizons to Soma and later to Third Love. I'm a convert. Perhaps TMI as well, but I thought I'd share :)
