How amazing is this gorgeous maxi dress?! I am just dying over the bright, bold colors and the fun pattern! It is so comfortable to wear- I seriously wish I could wear this dress every day! I received this dress courtesy of Jane.com, which is a wonderful daily deals website that connects shoppers to limited quantity boutique deals on apparel, accessories and home goods! I had a wonderful experience working with Jane, and they feature fabulous new items on their website everyday, so there's always something new to check out!
One thing that I especially loved about this dress was that the tag of it had the bible verse John 3:16 cited on the fabric- love that! :-)
In this post I am also featuring the beautiful hand stamped bracelet that I'm wearing from Etsy shop Bstamped! Shop owner Brittany creates custom stamped bracelets like the one that I have. I chose mine to be stamped with my favorite bible verses, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, which read "Rejoice always, pray continually." Here's an Instagrammed picture of my bracelet!
I wore this outfit this past Saturday night when I had the opportunity to be the emcee for a belly dance recital! It was my very first "voice gig" in New England which I was so excited about. (I've had a few voice opportunities in NC as I used to record commercials for the radio station at my former college, and I have recorded the phone answering system for the IT department at my new school!) The emceeing went very well even though my microphone died halfway through the recital! Thank goodness for the public speaking class that I took last fall that really taught me how to project my voice... that definitely paid off! Here is me with one of the dancers (and my failed microphone ;-)):
In addition to getting to emcee this recital, I also got to job shadow a morning radio show at a Christian radio station here in Maine last week! That was an amazing experience, I even got to go on-air which I was totally not expecting! I am not a morning person at all, but it was 100% worth waking up at 4 a.m. for. I'm so happy that I've had some opportunities so far this summer to still be pursuing radio and getting more experience doing what I love!! I miss my internship with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation back in Charlotte so much, but I know that it will be waiting for me in August!
Sorry that this post was all over the place- half fashion, half life/career update! Speaking of career- this week my summer work schedule starts back up at its normal hours! Today I'm working the full day: open to close at the store. (Yay for bigger paychecks!)
xoxo Miss ALK
