4. Get to emcee a large local radio event - I was honored to be the emcee for a local black tie gala benefitting St. Jude Children's Hospital in April. I'm so excited that I already have another emceeing event on the calendar in spring 2024 for work.
27. Take Ryan home to Maine - One year after we were supposed to go to Maine, we finally made it! Ryan really enjoyed Maine and we did a lot of sightseeing at my favorite places. Here's the full itinerary for our trip!
50. Go to Afternoon Tea at a place I haven't done it before - My friend Amanda kindly treated me to tea at The Founder's Inn in Virginia Beach as a belated birthday celebration last month!
51. Own a dining room table again - Technically it's not "my" table, but I moved into Ryan's apartment in July, and he has a dining table set! For more reasons than just dining tables, I am so happy to be living in a bigger place than the tiny one bedroom that I lived in for my first two years in Virginia Beach.
52. Go to my first-ever major league professional sporting event - Amanda and I attended the 2023 Wyndham Championship PGA golf event in August for our annual girls' trip!
58. Read at least 30 books in 2023 - I hit 30 books for 2023 in August! I'm hoping to get to 40 by the end of the year.
66. Attend a professional golf tournament - Another 101 in 1001 list item that attending the Wyndham Championship checked off for me!
67. Take more golf lessons again - I resumed golf lessons in August (post hip bursitis) and have been continuing them into the fall! I feel like a broken record to say this, but I am just so thankful to be back to golfing again.
79. Visit Chapel Hill, NC - Another 101 in 1001 list item that my friend Amanda helped me check off! 😊 We had brunch at the historic Carolina Inn hotel in Chapel Hill on our way back from the Wyndham Championship.
83. Go on a tropical warm weather vacation - My dad and I did a father-daughter trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic in early June! Other than the fact that we both got bad food poisoning, it was a great time.
96. Visit the western part of Virginia during the fall again - I was just up in Charlottesville last weekend, and I'm headed there again in a couple weekends from now! Hoping to see some beautiful foliage on my upcoming trip.
97. Daytrip to Yorktown, VA - I had work event in Yorktown a few months ago, and it was during the weekend that my college roommate Caroline was visiting. After I was done working, we explored the historic riverfront area of Yorktown. It's a very cute area! (But smaller than I was expecting.)
I can't believe that I'm already close to a third of the way done this list. I feel like I'm off to a stronger start for the first year than I was with my first 101 in 1001 a few years ago. There are already a few list items that are on the docket to be crossed off within the next several months, so I'm already excited for my next update post next spring!
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese
