Of Derby Days and Sweepstakes.

This post is sponsored by Cottonelle.

First and foremost, my apologies for disapearing from the blogging world for almost a week without notice! Final exams and moving out of my dorm room got the best of me (especially moving out), and this past week has been stressful to the max! Thank goodness for the fact that I am officially on summer vacation now, and done with my sophomore year of college!

Spring is my favorite season for a number of reasons, but the fact that it's Derby season is one reason to love this time of year even more! It is my dream to someday attend a horse race in the Springtime. I think that day of dressing up in an adorable outfit complete with an outrageous hat, watching beautiful race horses, and socializing with friends sounds like a wonderful out! I had really wanted to attend the Carolina Cup this past March with some of my sorority sisters, but our chapter's largest philanthropy event was late the night before, so I was unable to go. But of course I still had a super cute oufit picked out that I would have worn, and I still needed an excuse to wear it... so when I was invited last weekend to attend the spring formal dance at my former college, I knew that I was going to dress up Derby style!

I loved wearing this outfit, and I cannot wait until the next time that I have an excuse to dress up Derby style for something!! I'm also determined to make it to the Carolina Cup next year, and hopefully the mother of all races, the Kentucky Derby, someday as well!

Speaking of the Kentucky Derby, I'm also writing today to let y'all know that Cottonelle is sponsoring an awesome sweepstakes in honor of this year's Derby! Cottonelle is one of the main sponsors of this year's event, and there could be a lot of winners if the odds are in favor of the top horses! Here are the official details for the sweepstakes:

Cottonelle is upping the ante at this year’s Kentucky Derby and launching “The Cottonelle Great Finish,” a giveaway that will reward Americans with a year supply of Cottonelle products should the No. 1 and No. 2 positioned racehorses place in that order during the race. People looking to get in on the action can sign up at the Cottonelle landing page. The first 15,000 entrants to sign up will be awarded a year’s supply of Cottonelle toilet paper and flushable cleansing cloths if the outcome aligns.

Here are the instructions for entering the sweepstakes!

2. Click on the Cottonelle Great Finish Giveaway
3. Click on "Sign up now"
4. Register for the Cottonelle Updates website

What are you waiting for?! 15,000 people could have the chance to win- I'm not very good with math but that seems like pretty good odds to me! :-)

Have any of you ever gone to the Kentucky Derby or Carolina Cup before? Do you enjoy Derby fashion?

    xoxo Miss ALK

P.S. I promise that I will be blogging on a regular schedule again next week once I am back home and all settled in!! :-)

  1. I absolutely LOVE derby fashion because it is the south at it's best! Your look was perfect! I've never been to the Kentucky Derby, but I definitely have something in my closet for it just in case :-)

  2. Loving your Lilly! I host an annual Derby Day party in the City which mainly involves sitting somewhere in a giant hat sipping juleps ignoring the looks of people thinking I'm off my rocker haha...but hey, any excuse to dress up, right??? :)
