101 in 1001: 1 Year Update

     I can't believe it's been a full year since I shared my first 101 in 1001 bucket list on the blog! (I started last September on my 25th birthday.) If you're unfamiliar with the 101 in 1001 concept, it was made popular by blogger Mackenzie of Design Darling! You make a bucket list with 101 items in different categories, and try to accomplish as many as you can in 1001 days. I've decided to do updates every six months- you can check out my March 2020 update (published right before COVID) in this blog post

{Photo originally from this post}

     Considering that this current six month increment literally kicked off the week that COVID got serious... it shouldn't be too surprising that I didn't cross off as many goals as I did in the first six month increment. A lot of things on this list simply weren't able to be completed in the spring, and some still aren't able to be completed now! A bit disappointing, but hopefully as the months continue to go on I can start moving faster on some of these again. At one year in, I'm now just about 20% done the list!

     Goals crossed out with purple font were completed in the first six months (September 2019-March 2020), and goals crossed out with red font are from this most recent six months: March 2020 to now.

Completed past 6 months: 4

    Here's a look at the goals on this list that I completed between March and September 2020!

     20. Write comprehensive Maine Travel Guides: I finally finished a very detailed Travel Guide for my hometown area during the height of quarantine this spring. I ended up deciding only to publish a detailed Kennebunk guide on the blog. Since it's been years since I've been a resident of Maine, other than Kennebunk (which I still visit a few times a year) I didn't feel quite so qualified anymore to write complete guides for places in Maine like York/Ogunquit, Portland, the Midcoast region, etc. Check out my Guide to the Kennebunks here- I hope this is a helpful resource to those visiting Southern Maine!

     33. Buy or lease a new vehicle: I was really hoping not to have to do this until 2021 at the earliest, but my beloved old Mazda "Lucy" decided to break down for good in the spring, so it was new car time. I ultimately made the decision to lease instead of buy, and I could not be happier with that choice!

     44. Use my camera for more non-blog related photography: I haven't done this as much as I hoped, but I did get to do my friend Emily's graduation photos last month, which has definitely inspired me to continue using my camera for other purposes than just my blog!

     45. Join a tennis league or organize playing regularly with friends: Definitely the goal I've had the most fun with! I set a goal on my Summer 2020 bucket list (separate from my 101 in 1001) to play tennis three times this summer, and I have way exceeded that! I've been playing twice a week since early June, and it's been the best! I posted about looking for tennis partners in a local Facebook group I'm in, and I ended up forming a nice small group of friends new and old who wanted to play with me! I do much better working out around other people than alone, so this has truly been a saving grace for my body and mental health this summer (my fitness studio remains closed and is doing virtual workouts only still!). I hope to keep playing tennis until the snow comes!

     I realize that I haven't touched any of my faith related goals yet- I hope to change that in the next six months! I am also hoping to maybe cross off one of two of the more local travel goals.

     Here's to the next six months! Crazy to think that the next time I do an update, it'll have been a full year since COVID began.

      God Bless,

       xoxo Annaliese
