I'm excited to share all about one of the most impactful room makeover projects in our first house with you today. The smallest room in the house ended up having the biggest impact from a simple room refresh, and I honestly can’t believe what a difference it's made! And even better, we were able to create this type of transformation while sticking to a tight budget.
Before we get into what the bathroom looks like now, let's first touch base on what it looked like when we bought the house! The walls were blood red, the ceiling was a (poorly applied) peel and stick wallpaper with a very bold print, and the sink and vanity fixtures were original to the house. 😳 Woof!
We had to keep this powder bathroom refresh as affordable as possible, and that meant keeping the pre-existing toilet, floor and vanity. I'll be honest- the vanity style really isn't my favorite. But I'm really pleased that changes we made did make the vanity area look better and more updated!
Our original plan for a new color for the powder bathroom was mint green, but the green we had selected did not look good once we put it on the walls. So it was back to the drawing board! We had leftover light lilac paint from our main guest room, and I suggested we give it a try in the powder bathroom. So Ryan started repainting, and we (thankfully) loved the end result. The color we ended up with is White Lavender from Behr Paint.
Two other focal points of the space are the new mirror and wall art piece. The white floral mirror was actually an amazing Marshall's find! I got such a good deal on it and knew it was just perfect for this space. And the pastel beach scene art piece is a HomeGoods find, that Ryan actually picked out! We were casually browsing HomeGood earlier this year, and this print really caught his eye.
