Ramblings:
  • Parks & Rec: How about that absolutely incredible Parks & Rec reunion special that aired last Thursday night? The start of last week wasn't the best for me, but I swear part of the reason I had a wonderful weekend was due to seeing this on TV on Thursday night. The reunion special was heartwarming and funny, and it felt like no time had passed since we last said goodbye to our favorite residents of Pawnee in 2015. (You can catch the special now on streaming if you missed it live!) Anyways, this article about the show surfaced last week and I thought it was an excellent read! I totally agree with the author of it that Parks & Rec was not good at all the first season, but it then became an incredible comedy in later seasons.
  • State re-opening: Well, we finally have some news here in Virginia regarding the phases of our state's re-opening. Certain non-essential businesses can begin on May 15th, and as of now the general stay at home order will still end June 10th as planned (fingers crossed it won't be re-extended past that). As of now I have a hair appointment ready to go for June 12th... 😂we will see if I can get one sooner! What are things looking like where you live?
  • Fun giveaway coming: Heads up that I have a giveaway on Instagram tomorrow, for an in-demand item from Vera Bradley's newest print. Hint: it's a very practical item that you could be using a lot of while we still stay home! Be sure to look for it tomorrow night on my Instagram feed

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: The first really good weekend I've had since social distancing began! On Friday night, my close girlfriends and I had a socially distanced picnic dinner in a local park. On Saturday, my roommate Abigail and I took a day trip!! It was our first time out of Charlottesville in two months. We went to the Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge, an hour and fifteen minutes away. It's a drive through safari with exotic animals- social distancing safe since you don't leave your car. However, I think everyone in the entire Southeast had the same idea for Saturday plans. There were literally thousands of cars there and local cops were trying to shut down the park since the roads were getting so congested! Isn't that crazy? Fortunately we were still able to get in with our pre-purchased tickets. We then stopped for ice cream in Staunton on the way home, it was a fun day! Sunday wasn't very exciting compared to the rest of the weekend- I just did a lot of blog work and groceries.
  • This weekend: No plans as of now. I guess I need a weekend to recover after leave the house last weekend- ha! My friends and I want to try and do another socially distanced picnic, but not sure what day will be best weather-wise yet. I am hopeful this might be one of the last quiet weekends for awhile though, and that later in May I'll start having more weekend plans again!

Purchases: HAHA I told myself quarantine shopping was over for a bit... clearly I failed at that this week. #ThanksLillyPulitzerSale
  • Finally took the plunge with another quarantine splurge and got AirPods! They just came in so I haven't used them yet, but I'm so excited.
  • Lilly Pulitzer had a wonderful surprise sale over the weekend- this was my first purchase! Can't wait to wear it to work and on weekends.
  • I also bought my first Popover in the Lilly sale! Absolutely obsessed with the print I got it in.
  • And last but not least, my favorite purchase of the week... this might end up being my favorite purchase of 2020. I've been on the hunt for a Lilly dress in my favorite print of all-time for years now, as the print was discontinued several years ago. I finally found my dream shift dress in my dream print in my size in a re-sale group this weekend!! I am just giddy with excitement for it to get here.
  • And lastly- I bought a couple of masks with Lilly fabric! If you're looking for some of your own, check out yesterday's blog post for tons of options.

Wishlist:
  • FYI my favorite summer sandals are currently 30% off! Great time to pull the trigger and get them if you've been considering.
  • The cut of this dress looks just like one of my favorite casual Lilly styles, the Margot. But this one is at a much cheaper price (and on sale further right now).
  • Getting all the 4th of July vibes with this cute sundress!
  • A classy black bikini for summer that's $25!
  • What a darling pajama set at a great price! Quarantine has taught me my pajama drawer needs some serious updates.

Currently reading: Heartstopper by Joy Fielding - Still working on this thriller from last week, I haven't had as much reading time the past few days.

Recipe of the week: Fish Tacos from Nicholle Sophia - When meal planning last weekend, I planned to make my friend Niki's fish tacos on Tuesday. I totally forgot that Tuesday was Cinco de Mayo- that worked out haha! She has the recipe for these easy tacos on her Instagram Story highlights.

Song of the week: Obsesii by Alexandra Stan - Do you remember this artist? She's a European dance artist, and her worldwide hit song Mr. Saxobeat was popular about 10 or so years ago. I haven't heard much from her since, but she's back with a new single that I absolutely love.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Carolina Charm - Christina shared a day in the life post about how things have been for her family while staying home. She and her husband are both WFH while homeschooling their two young children. After reading this I have so more awe and respect for the families like hers that are dealing with all this right now!
  • Chronicles of Frivolity - Katey shared a round-up of her favorite high-quality brands sold at Walmart! I honestly haven't shopped much at Walmart for clothes or accessories in years, but this post is making me reconsider.
  • Southern Curls and Pearls - How gorgeous is Caitlin in this blue and white sundress? I want all of the ones she included in her round-up as well.
On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  1. Your drive thru safari sounds like the perfect way to get out of the house but still stay safe! I'm loving that picture of the Ostrich. They are hilarious looking!

  2. Your picnic and zoo trip sounds like SO much fun. And it looks like you found so many great Lilly pieces! I love when I can find pieces I wanted and missed the first time around on sale via ebay or Poshmark. It makes me feel so saavy, haha!

  3. Ahh I love going to safari parks, so fun and a a great idea for social distancing.

I still haven’t watched Parks & Rec, but need to. Thank you for the reminder. Alabama is open now, but I am staying in since I’m so close to my due date. So excited to see you style your pop over. I love mine.
